July 4th, 2007

Tomorrow is the fourth of July! Also I will be TEN soon! Today Katherine started to feel sick. I think she is fine because right now we are laughing like crazy. See ya!

July 4th, 2007 - Morning entry: Happy Fourth of July! Right now we are on the exact path of the Pilgrims! In five hours we will be in Plymouth. Mommy said maybe tomorrow, if it rains, we can go to Plymouth Rock. Tomorrow, as you know, is my birthday. I was hoping to go to Camden, but we can't. The dinghy doesn't fit on the hangy thing so it's on the back deck. We are going to go from Southwest Harbor, where we were, straight to Nantucket, but it's too long. So now we are the 2007 Pilgrims. I feel like one too seeing that we're living on this boat, had a problem and had to turn around. It not exactly what they did, but who cares? See ya! Evening entry: Tomorrow is my birthday! I just saw the best fireworks I've ever seen. We are in Plymouth and right under amazing fireworks...(happy almost bday)!

Sailing vocabulary:

Dolphins: some dolphins live in very cold water with the seals.

Speed: If Zen is going 6 knots, Uliad, our old boat, would be going 4 or 5.

Navigation: When you navigate, you use something like a tool. You measure miles with it, using a map key, and put it on your map. Then keep its shape and twist it or walk it to count the miles.

Batons: Batons are things in a sail that help it keeps its shape.
