Passage from Newport RI to Tortola BVI - Atlantic 48 - 2007
Saturday Morning
Looks like we will see the front this afternoon. We made it pretty far south so it will be minimal. Commanders is telling us 20 to 25 with gust to 30. That's what we have had most of the way. The worst will be the light winds it will create before the trades kick in. Ear plugs will definitely do the trick. I do not think we will see much of this weather going across the Pacific. It was squally and confused sea for two days. Everyone agrees that ear plugs would have made a huge difference.
Let's book flights for Friday am. We will likely arrive mid to late Wed. I want a day to put the boat away. Yes, JetBlue is a great idea. Don't care if we fly to PVD or Bos. Whatever flight get's in at a better time. Have Jim book a town car (not rental!!) if no one wants/can get to the airport.
Tell the kids I agree. It is probably Saturn. Not sure if I will see it tonight with the front coming through. We have had a great moon the whole trip. I think it is full tonight. I sat on the back deck fr a couple hours during my watch last night. John freaked out when he could not find me. He came flying out on the back deck. Ooops. We all took showers today. It's 80 degrees so we have the boat wide open to air it out. Gotta go...the wind is clocking around to the North. The beginning of the frontal passage.
Love you....
From Monique: when I post these, if I am lacking photos from crew...I'll add some random sailing ones to keep it fun!
