Hiding in Tobago Cays

How's the Weather?  Check out the storms coming across the Atlantic

Hi everyone, how's the weather?? See the picture and you can see what one of the weather charts looked like the other day. You can also see the red arrow that shows where we are right now. The storms have all tracked North by a few hundred miles so far. We are among thousands of other cruisers enjoying ourselves in the Southern Caribbean during this tumultuous storm season. The weather chart looks ominous but the weather down here is currently fantastic. Yesterday we decided to sail North, yes toward the storms, to the remote Tobago Cays. As you may have read in past blogs this is one of our favorite cruising locations. In the high season you may see 50 boats anchored in this remote little Caribbean paradise. Tonight there are only 2 other boats joining us. Now, you may say "sure Tom, they are the only other sailors dumb enough to sail North when huge storms are ravaging the entire Caribbean". The truth is that we are not really that daring. We are only 24 hours from Venezuela, where the big storms are very few and far between. We have constant access to excellent weather information and we keep a very close watch. If it looks bad we have several days of warning and can quickly sail to safety. That's all for now.

Don't be surprised to see Tom Brady on a nearby boat over the next 2 weeks. Blew his knee out in season opener! Safe travels as always.
